Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Vin Burnham. She's an international award-winning costume and character designer and famous for her works in such projects like The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, The Fifth Element, along with Lost In Space and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II among others. Vin is also responsible for her well-known work in BBC's Chronicles of Narnia series, including her own created-design masterpiece: Aslan the Lion. Despite what the folks of today might call Aslan as a "puppet", it took a lot of money and hard work to make this animatronic lion come to life straight out from C.S. Lewis' books. It succeeded nicely, if I do say so myself. It has also been reported that children worldwide, during its television debut, were literally writing letters to the character of Aslan. I found that little tidbit extremely adorable and, if I'd known that then, I definitely would've too!

Featured press articles about the Narnia series:
Televisual Magazine, 1988, talking about The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and the creation of its designs for Aslan, costumes and special effects. Claimed to have been the biggest budget ever for a televised BBC production back in the day.
You Magazine, 1988
Card to Aslan from Comic Relief, 1989. Apparently, Aslan's popularity from the mini-series was so great that he came onto Comic Relief to present a BAFTA award. This postcard is a personal 'thank you' from them.
Bat Magazine, 1990, and while the article is in French there's a great picture with Vin and Aslan.
Malibu Surfside News, 1990. It's a Q&A from Vin, which she mentions her work on Narnia.
Vin Burnham is responsible for creating the beauty that came out of the Narnia television series. Also, looking at her other credited projects, she's doing very well in other things; film, television, theatre and advertisements.
