Narnia Cook Book [30 Dec 2009|05:54pm]

Hello Everyone!

I just recently got the rare Narnia Cookbook for Christmas, and I discovered it is missing about 20 recipes. It seems like it was a publishing error.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is anyone willing to scan the missing pages and send it to me, so I don't have to buy a new book?

More with Peter Pevensie (Richard Dempsey) [28 Oct 2006|11:23am]

[ mood | good ]

Most recently, Richard Dempsey was featured in a small article interview briefly talking about the audition process for the BBC production of The Chronicles of Narnia, his career as an actor, and discusses his part for the West End premiere theatre production of Dirty Dancing. While short, it's a very informative article and includes a picture!

Some more upcoming news: this Sunday (October 29th), just in time for Halloween the Sherlock Holmes episode, "The Last Vampyre" will be airing on A&E/Biography Channel. Richard Dempsey plays Jack Ferguson, who is a vital character to the television-movie. It will be airing at 2:00pm (or 11:00am, as my schedule says). Click here for more details of the episode.

News: Going to the Theatre [14 Oct 2006|01:53pm]

[ mood | content ]

As it's been announced, Richard Dempsey is appearing in the West End Theatre musical production of Dirty Dancing. He'll be playing the character of Neil Kellerman. Addition information about the performance, where it'll be and how much it'll cost is located here.

There's also another treat, Richard has his own video diary blog of the production stages. Including behind the scenes and backstage information, dance and singing rehearsal clips and more! You'll need Flash Player version 8 to view the videos.

This is truly an experience for any fan of the Narnia series, and I'm envious to anyone who gets to see this production. Or anything with Richard on stage, really. If there's anyone in the UK that is going to be attending any theatre performances, past or present that has anyone from the original Narnia cast, I would hope to hear from their experiences.

BBC Narnia Website [04 Aug 2006|09:02am]
[ mood | accomplished ]

I have finished making a website about the BBC Narnia movies, and would like to invite everyone to visit!

It’s not very fancy right now, as my main goal was to get it online. If anyone has suggestions on improvement, I’d be glad to hear them. I will probably ask you to help with whatever you suggest.

I still don’t have Silver Chair screencaps, so please let me know if you have any!

SC Caps [02 Jul 2006|09:19pm]

Hi everyone! I've stalked this community for forever (being a diehard BBC Narnia fan - puppet Aslan is the real Aslan!), and this is the frst time I've posted, so Hello!

Does anyone know where I can find good screencaps of The Silver Chair? I have been dying for them for forever, and everyone just seems to stop capping at VDT.

Please let me know!

Vin Burnham - Costume and Design [09 Jun 2006|02:50pm]

[ mood | okay ]

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Vin Burnham. She's an international award-winning costume and character designer and famous for her works in such projects like The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, The Fifth Element, along with Lost In Space and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II among others. Vin is also responsible for her well-known work in BBC's Chronicles of Narnia series, including her own created-design masterpiece: Aslan the Lion. Despite what the folks of today might call Aslan as a "puppet", it took a lot of money and hard work to make this animatronic lion come to life straight out from C.S. Lewis' books. It succeeded nicely, if I do say so myself. It has also been reported that children worldwide, during its television debut, were literally writing letters to the character of Aslan. I found that little tidbit extremely adorable and, if I'd known that then, I definitely would've too!

Featured pictures from the website:
Closeup shot of Aslan
Another shot of Aslan
Aslan sitting down for a pose
Glenstorm and Eustace the Dragon, two other Narnian creatures she designed.

Featured press articles about the Narnia series:
Televisual Magazine, 1988, talking about The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and the creation of its designs for Aslan, costumes and special effects. Claimed to have been the biggest budget ever for a televised BBC production back in the day.
You Magazine, 1988
Card to Aslan from Comic Relief, 1989. Apparently, Aslan's popularity from the mini-series was so great that he came onto Comic Relief to present a BAFTA award. This postcard is a personal 'thank you' from them.
Bat Magazine, 1990, and while the article is in French there's a great picture with Vin and Aslan.
Malibu Surfside News, 1990. It's a Q&A from Vin, which she mentions her work on Narnia.

Vin Burnham is responsible for creating the beauty that came out of the Narnia television series. Also, looking at her other credited projects, she's doing very well in other things; film, television, theatre and advertisements.

Fanfiction: Above and Below [05 Jun 2006|08:02pm]

Last night I watched the BBC version of The Silver Chair; I forgot how good it is. Eustace and Jill are perfectly cast, as well as Puddleglum. I was amused by Jill being taller than Eustace. This unusual inspiration resulted in this story. Enjoy. :-)

Title: Above and Below
Rating: G (K)
Disclaimer: The Chronicles of Narnia, all characters, places, and related terms belong to C.S. Lewis.
Summary: Eustace had never thought much about the height difference between him and Jill before. But now… Post Silver Chair, BBC-verse.

The Pevensie Reunion Transcript [22 May 2006|12:38pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Finally, after searching and searching forever I found that someone posted in another forum the full transcript for the 2003 interview reunion from the region 2 Collector's Edition. While I would've loved so hear audio or view the video, the transcript is better than nothing at this point. So, here's the words straight from Richard Dempsey, Sophie Cook, Jonathon Scott, and Sophie Wilcox: the original Pevensies, telling their experience while working on the series many years ago. Very insightful, too. So, enjoy!
